Airport partners up with new charity
Edinburgh Airport will partner with Change Mental Health for the next two years as the airport’s next charity partner is announced.
Change Mental Health will work with the airport for 2026 and 2027 after coming out on top in a staff vote. The collaboration will begin following the conclusion of the two-year partnership between the airport and Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity which will finish at the end of this year, with a total of more than £200,000 raised.
Nearly 50 different charities and organisations put themselves forward to be the airport’s next partner when applications opened in October.
Following a shortlist being drawn up, Change Mental Health was selected for the 2026 and 2027 partnership after winning a vote amongst Edinburgh Airport staff.
The charity works to improve the wellbeing and quality of life of people affected by serious mental illness, including those who are family members, carers and supporters.
Gordon Robertson, Edinburgh Airport’s Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer, said:
“Every year we are inspired by the range and quality of applications we receive from charities and organisations, and this year was no exception.
“The work Change Mental Health does to help individuals and families affected by mental health is is hugely important, and we’re proud to be partnering with them for the next two years.
“We’ll be working closely with them to raise awareness of the work the charity does, whilst also raising money through our fundraising activities.
“We’re looking forward to officially launching the partnership in the new year.”
Nick Ward, CEO at Change Mental Health, said:
“We are absolutely thrilled to be chosen as Edinburgh Airport’s charity partner for the next two years.
“Change Mental Health has been providing transformational support to many people and their carers across Scotland for over 50 years, but we know so many are still left behind. Partnering with Edinburgh Airport – where Scotland meets the world – is a huge opportunity to change attitudes, raise awareness and tackle stigma, and ensure people know where to get the help and support they need and when they need it.
“Through this partnership, we can reach more people when they need it most. We are extremely thankful to all of the Edinburgh Airport staff who voted for us and we look forward to working alongside everyone to ensure, together, there is a future where no one faces mental illness alone.”
