Six paid opportunities for young people are being created this summer as Edinburgh Airport launches its own internship programme.
Students currently in college or university education, and interested in working at the airport, are being invited to apply for a number of different intern roles across the campus as the airport continues to invest in its future and that of young people.
Opportunities are being advertised from today with roles available in Communications, Finance, Engineering, Software Engineering, Capital Projects and Customer Support.
Internships will each run for a period of 10 to 12 weeks, starting in June. These are full-time roles and successful candidates will be paid the real living wage for the duration.
The airport is keen to invite applications from students who have broken down barriers and are the first in their family to embark on full-time education, are care experienced, have refugee or asylum seeker status, or identifies as being from an under-represented background.
Throughout the internship they will benefit from:
Experience of working in the airport environment, with support from a line manager
Access to training tailored to the role and team they’re working within
Opportunity to network with other teams across the campus
Chance to deliver a presentation on their internship journey to the airport’s executive team
The potential to stay on part-time after summer
Gillian Pollock, Director of People and Planning at Edinburgh Airport, said:
“There are few better ways to attract early talent than through internships, and we’re really looking forward to welcoming six enthusiastic, talented interns to the airport this summer.
“By introducing our own programme we can widen the talent pool we have and hopefully reach people who are looking for an exciting opportunity in a fast paced environment like the airport.”

The launch of this internship programme comes as Edinburgh Airport also begins recruiting for a new Graduate Analyst position. The successful candidate will spend time working with three different teams across the business throughout a 30-month programme.
