Mark Johnston appointed new CEO of Edinburgh Airport

• Mark Johnston appointed Chief Executive of Edinburgh Airport.

• Mark joins from London Gatwick Airport, where he is currently Chief Operating Officer.

• Previously Managing Director of Glasgow Airport, Mark returns home to Edinburgh after two and a half years at Gatwick.

• Gordon Dewar departs after 14 years with Edinburgh Airport, growing passenger numbers by 85% from 9 million in 2012 to almost 17 million in 2025.

Mark Johnston has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of Edinburgh Airport.

Currently Chief Operating Officer at London Gatwick Airport, Mark will take up the role on 1 October, succeeding Gordon Dewar and returning to his home city.

Well known across the aviation industry, Mark was previously Managing Director of Glasgow Airport.

He succeeds Gordon Dewar, who leaves after 14 years as Chief Executive. During his tenure, Edinburgh Airport has experienced significant growth in passenger numbers, airlines and routes, cementing its position as Scotland’s busiest and most connected airport.
