Airfield incident response training

An exercise to practice the response to a potential airfield incident will take place at Edinburgh Airport over the next two days (Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 November 2022).

The exercise will be carried out in areas of our airfield and within the terminal and allow the airport’s teams and partners to practice and plan for an incident.

Partners involved include the emergency services, airlines partners and ground handling partners amongst others.

Passengers may see an increase in activity and flashing lights as part of the exercise but there is no need for members of the public to be alarmed.

A certain area within the terminal will be used and cordoned off to the public and airport staff will be in place to allay any concerns raised by passengers.

As one of Scotland’s major ports, it’s important that we assess our procedures and test our response to any situation, and this will be an opportunity to bring teams from across the campus together and look at our airfield incident planning.
